St Patrick's Cross Ornament

Oldest of the great Irish High Crosses, dating from the 7th century, this stands over 3 metres tall in Carndonagh, Co. Donegal. At the bottom of the carving there are three pilgrims, in the middle is Christ with the four Evangelists, and at the top there is a beautiful interlacing pattern, which is often used in Celtic art to suggest the ineffable.

The ornament is cast in resin and coated with a beautiful bronze finish before being polished to bring out its hidden beauty. The mold is carved by hand by one of Wild Goose Studio’s master artists, creating a stunningly detailed design with artisanal style. A gold ribbon is included for hanging.
 
Wild Goose Studio was founded by artists Brian Scott-McCarthy and Kathleen Smyth in Kinsale, County Cork in 1970 and has been creating high quality sculpted pieces of Irish art ever since.
