St Brigid's Cross Ornament

This is a small hanging decoration cast in bronze, featuring St Brigid's Cross, the best known and loved of Ireland's female saints. St Brigid is associated with many holy wells and with the cross traditionally woven from reeds each 1st February. It was then hung over the door to protect the house and family. 
 
The ornament is cast in resin and coated with a beautiful bronze finish before being polished to bring out its hidden beauty. The mold is carved by hand by one of Wild Goose Studio’s master artists, creating a stunningly detailed design with artisanal style. A gold ribbon is included for hanging.
 
Wild Goose Studio was founded by artists Brian Scott-McCarthy and Kathleen Smyth in Kinsale, County Cork in 1970 and has been creating high quality sculpted pieces of Irish art ever since.
